Chapter 3 Test # 2

Differentiate:
y = e^cos(3x)

Solution: Remember to use the CHAIN RULE!
1) Differentiate the outside function.
e^cos3x
2) Multiple solution from #1 by the derivative of the inside function.
(e^cos3x)(-sin3x)
3) We must also use Chain Rule for -sin3x. So....
(e^cos3x)(-sin3x)(3)
4) So...
y' = -3(e^(cos3x)) * sin(3x)
